Do the lyrics explicitly represent the love interest we DONT see in the game? The wacky Doctor Odine: in the Japanese game, does he have the Rising Sun around his neck and talk in a german accent as well, or what? Why compress all time anyway? It kills everyone except for her.

Why exactly did Laguna go from being a soldier to a movie star to a President? into the past to play as Laguna, but why? Was it so Laguna could reunite with Raine? And, is Raine the piano player in the bar that Laguna was bashful to meet? Why does Ultimecia need Ellone? Ellone cant manipulate the past, only view it, so why does Ultimecia need to view the past in order for the time compression to work. Rather, I have little understanding on major plot points in this game, FFVIII. I enjoyed it for what it was, but outside of the music and cutscenes (for its day) I have no idea why so many people are gaga for that game. About 2 years ago, I finished FFVII, which was my first Final Fantasy game.
