Is the orphanage stuff handled better in Japanese? Is the explanation for why Guardian Forces cause amnesia given? Why is Irvine the only one to know what is going on during all of this?ĭo any of these questions get answered, or get answered more clearly, in the original Japanese text?Īlso, how are the characters handled in the Japanese text? Is the Quistis/Squall/Rinoa love triangle dealt with better? Does Squall act like an ass to Rinoa less frequently, so that his eventual love for her is less jarring? (I cant understand this one in the English version. What is the Rinoa stuff is Seifer? Theres like 2 lines that suggest they had a relationship or she liked/loved him, but it is disregarded so quickly that it makes no sense. In the song "Eyes on Me", the line "I'm more than the dress and the voice" is supposed to be Laguna with the girl in the bar playing the piano, but why Squall and Rinoa as well? Do the lyrics explicitly represent the love interest we DONT see in the game? The wacky Doctor Odine: in the Japanese game, does he have the Rising Sun around his neck and talk in a german accent as well, or what? Why compress all time anyway? It kills everyone except for her.
Final fantasy viii ellone movie#
Why exactly did Laguna go from being a soldier to a movie star to a President? into the past to play as Laguna, but why? Was it so Laguna could reunite with Raine? And, is Raine the piano player in the bar that Laguna was bashful to meet? Why does Ultimecia need Ellone? Ellone cant manipulate the past, only view it, so why does Ultimecia need to view the past in order for the time compression to work. Rather, I have little understanding on major plot points in this game, FFVIII. I enjoyed it for what it was, but outside of the music and cutscenes (for its day) I have no idea why so many people are gaga for that game. About 2 years ago, I finished FFVII, which was my first Final Fantasy game.

This is the second FF game Ive ever completed. I just played through FFVIII this week for the first time.
